Greens Sand Injection
Week commencing September 12th
- We will be carrying out a process called Graden Sand Injection.
The greens will be scarified to a depth of 20mm with 3mm diameter tines and at the same time injected with kiln dried sand.
The greens will be scarified to a depth of 20mm with 3mm diameter tines and at the same time injected with kiln dried sand.
This cultural practice will
impact on approximately 10% of the surface area and remove nearly 15% of the
organic matter within the target area.
By
gradually reducing the amount of organic matter in the greens, we will ultimately
improve their performance and playability.

Members please note that there
will be disruption to play and some temporary greens will be play during this
essential maintenance work.
Undoubtedly, there will be a
period of recovery beyond the planned maintenance itself but provided weather
conditions remain favourable we would expect recovery to the putting surfaces
in 14/21 days.
Whilst it is appreciated that
this will cause inconvenience to members, please be assured this process is
entirely necessary to ensure continued, long-term improvement in our putting
surfaces.
